Dimensions: 20 x 20 Artist's Statement about this work: Rock, paper, scissors: a classic children’s game centered around victory. However, this same gameplay is found between humanity and mother nature, and it can be a grim societal spectacle.Humanity often selects the pursuit of paper: a relentless chase where financial wins can come troubling loss of integrity. Others choose scissors and find themselves preoccupied with man-made materialisms, bladed and dangerous if mishandled. The fleetingness of humanity - our innovation and creations - will eventually fail us all.
The winning hand - proven through thousands of years - has always been rock. Mother nature’s infinite silent strength has withstood the worst of humanity, and remains victorious.
